October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic   Violence of Southwestern PA challenged followers to wear purple to raise awareness for domestic violence. Although, the CVC does not predominately focus on domestic violence the connection between sexual violence and domestic  violence is undeniable. According to NCADV, “Almost half of female (46.7%) and male (44.9%) victims of rape in the United States were raped by an acquaintance. Of these, 45.4% of     female rape victims and 29% of male rape victims were raped by an intimate partner,” (NCADV, 2019). To show our support CVC staff participated in the challenge and wore purple.
