QUALIFICATIONS:
-Degree in psychology/social work or counseling or two years’ experience in a related field with equivalent
experience
-Specific training and/or experience working with sexually abused children and their families
-Experience in group facilitation
-Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
REQUIREMENTS:
-Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances
-Completion of state-mandated Forty Hour Sexual Assault Training.
-PA Driver’s License (travel required)
-Available to work occasional evenings
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintain client rights to confidentiality as required by state statute for trained sexual assault counselors and Center
policies and procedures
-Coordinate, organize, and implement individual and group counseling at the SCI Fayette and the Fayette County
Prison for adult sexual abuse victims
-Provide prison employees, contractors, and volunteers with assistance and training on issues surrounding sexual
violence and victimization
-Provide individual counseling to child and adult victims of sexual assault and other violent crime
-Provide in-service training to volunteers and staff on the Prison Rape Elimination Act, PREA, program, child abuse
and crisis intervention techniques
-Provide advocacy and accompaniment for the victim at the hospital or other location where a forensic examination
is to be conducted
-Coordinate, organize, and implement individual and group counseling on and off-site for victims of sexual assault
and other violent crime
-Assist legal advocate in preparing children, adults, and their families for court
-Assist with volunteer training
-Provide outreach in the community
-Participate in emergency hotline coverage
-Complete and submit all programmatic reports for each grantor source per contract request
-Submit monthly statistic reports to Executive Director by the tenth of the following month
-Attend case management meetings
-Maintain records regarding each client
-Participate in fundraising activities
-Prepare victim profiles and submit to Administrative Specialist
-Input case notes into ETO Case Management System
-Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Director
