Join a team of caring staff and volunteers, dedicated to ending the cycle of violence by providing support and advocacy to victims of sexual assault and abuse, domestic violence, and other violent crimes.  Our volunteers play a vital role in the work performed by the Crime Victims’ Center.

Whether responding to calls on our 24-hour Crisis Hotline, serving as an advocate for survivors through the court system, working in our office or representing the Center at a community event, our volunteers help to empower those we serve.

Opportunities Abound…

Our greatest need for volunteers evolves around our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline.  Volunteers provide emotional support, information and referrals, active listening and crisis intervention.  In addition to answering our hotline calls, volunteers are also available to meet survivors at local hospitals and police stations after a violent crime to provide support and advocacy.

Other volunteer opportunities include:

Legal Accompaniment- Provide support and encouragement to survivors as they proceed through the legal system.

Victim Advocacy-Provide help with assessing the criminal justice system and other service providers as well as advocacy with local board, state coalitions, and national crime organizations.

Prevention Education Programs- Visit schools, businesses and organizations to assist with prevention presentations.

Community Outreach- Distribute agency brochures and educational materials at local information booths, seminars, and fairs.

Fundraising- Participate in the development and implementation of fundraising events and activities.

Office Support- Assist with bulk mailings and other general office duties.
